Transitioning from military to civilian life can be difficult for many veterans. Nearly two-thirds of new veterans say they faced a difficult transition to civilian life (Military.com). One of the biggest factors in this is finding work after duty can be daunting.

This is why Generation T is teaming up with AMVETS and Lowe’s Home Improvement to create the AMVETS Generation T Scholarships. “As veterans and spouses, we chose to take a path to serve a purpose greater than ourselves and our extraordinary experiences along that path have prepared us for an extraordinary opportunity.

The strength, integrity, courage, and resilience developed and refined while in service to our country are attributes easily translate into a rewarding career in one of the skilled trades (AMVETS).”

AMVETS with the support of Lowe’s Home Improvement is offering scholarships in five skilled trade areas:

  • Appliance repair
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Carpentry
  • HVAC

These are the requirements to be eligible for the AMVETS Generation T Scholarships:
